Since coming to Barrowmore I have a new lease on life. I have always found it difficult to trust others or settle but being at Barrowmore I now have trust in others and some friends. I feel safe and settled, which I haven’t for a long time. I can access all the services I need to work with my progress and the external agencies work with both myself and Barrowmore to help me become more independent.

I have gained so much confidence and promoted my independence since coming to Barrowmore. There is always someone around to support me and I can speak to staff at any time should I feel anxious. I spent my first Christmas here in 2022 and had such a lovely time. We had the works for Christmas lunch and presents for all the residents from Barrowmore. We had a full programme of activities also over the festive period. I cant thank Barrowmore enough for all they do for the residents.

I had lived with my mum all my life. Sadly she passed away a couple of years ago. I was lost and my family lived oversees so it was a difficult time for me. I was fortunate to be given an opportunity to view Barrowmore House. It was so welcoming and though the change made me feel quite anxious, I now feel settled and a part of Barrowmore. I have staff available 24/7 to support me and a number of friends. We do lots of fun activities and I have taken part in going away on a couple of the holidays Barrowmore have put on for the residents.

The charity does really important and quality work for those who have lost their home. The walks from the house and cafe are nice, and have mixed distances for those looking for short and longer walks. The Bluebell cafe provides GORGEOUS food, all at a reasonable price.
